What it's like
Luna Hut Sauna Café is at 62 Beaconsfield Road, under the London Road viaduct near Preston Park. The venue bills it as Brighton's first sauna café. The saunas are in a garden behind the café.
There are two main saunas: a Finnish-style wood-fired one that seats 14 and a smaller electric one that seats six. The FAQ also mentions a third sauna used for silent sessions, which isn't described elsewhere on the site. Cold options are plunge pools or tubs and alfresco cold showers. The site doesn't mention a hot shower. Temperatures aren't published.
The café does breakfast, lunch and dinner with Skylark coffee, and the venue says it's laptop-friendly. Water is supplied.
Communal sessions are 30, 60 or 90 minutes, and you pre-book in 30 minute blocks. The venue also offers 15 minute walk-in sessions when there's space. Swimwear is required. On the events side there's Singing Sauna and Sacred Sauna Sounds, a sound journey with shamanic drumming, chimes and crystal singing bowls.
Who it's for
People who want a sauna day with food built in, groups of up to 20 who want to hire the place, and anyone who likes a quiet session (there are four silent sessions a week). Twelve to 17 year olds can come with an adult.

First time here
- Book online through Periode. Sessions are sold in 30 minute multiples.
- Pick a length: 30 minutes is £8, 60 is £16 and 90 is £24, per person. For a relaxed first visit the venue suggests booking 60 minutes.
- Get there. It's about five minutes on foot from London Road station, with Beryl bays on Preston Road and at the station, and buses 5, 5A, 17 and 270 nearby.
- Parking is pay-and-display on surrounding roads. There are bike racks in front of Shahi Tandoori.
- Bring swimwear, two towels (one to sit on, one to dry) and your own padlock for the lockers.
- Opening hours: Monday 8am to 9pm, Tuesday 3pm to 9pm, Wednesday to Sunday 8am to 9pm. The smaller electric sauna opens at 4pm on weekdays.
Good to know
- The venue's own pages disagree on the cold plunges (two on the main page, four on the private hire page) and on changing rooms (four versus ten covered ones).
- Cancel more than 24 hours ahead and you get a gift-card credit. There are no cash refunds.
- Memberships work at all Luna Hut sites. Easy Breezy, Glow Getter and Heat Wave give 5, 10 and 29 sessions a month, but prices sit behind the booking login and aren't published.
- Concessions for NHS, students, Blue Light, over-65s and hardship are on an honesty basis. The amount isn't shown.
- Private hire for up to 20: £265 for 55 minutes or £385 for 85 minutes (saunas and plunge only), or the whole garden at £300 an hour with a three hour minimum.
