About this site
Who we are
Sauna & Cold Plunge is an independent directory of saunas, cold plunges and ice baths, edited by Alex Christou. It starts with Brighton & Hove and lists 31 venues, each with prices copied from the venue's own website and the date they were checked.

What this is
Most sauna listings tell you a place exists. This one tells you what a session costs, how long it lasts, whether there is a sea dip or an ice bath afterwards, who is allowed in, and when we last saw the price on the venue's own page.
Right now the directory covers Brighton & Hove: 17 saunas and studios, and 14 gyms and hotel spas that have a sauna, plus 2 more that are approved or announced but not open. Every venue page shows when its oldest price was checked, so you can see how fresh it is before you rely on it.
Who runs it
Alex Christou is the editor: the person who decides what is listed, what is left out and what a page says, and the one to write to if a page is wrong. There is no ratings panel and no paid reviewer.
Contact details are on the contact page. How we work is set out in the editorial and corrections policy.
What we list, and what we don't
We list public saunas, cold plunge and ice bath venues, private-hire saunas, and gyms and hotel spas with a sauna, including the ones that are members-only, so you can see plainly who can walk in. We do not list adult or gay saunas.
A venue that has closed is taken off the lists and counts. It keeps a short notice page for a few weeks so old links still land somewhere useful.
How it is paid for
Nobody pays to be listed, to be ranked higher or to have a page changed. Claiming a listing is free and booking links are free. We take no commission on bookings, and the site carries no adverts and no affiliate links.
That is deliberate. A directory that takes money from the venues it ranks cannot be trusted on price. It also tracks nobody: see the privacy page.
What we don't do
We don't publish star ratings or reviews, because we have none of our own and we won't borrow someone else's score. Descriptions of a venue come from what the venue itself publishes, with a link to the source, so we don't claim a visit unless a page says so.
The how we check page explains the verification steps and what can still go wrong.
Asked a lot
Who runs this site?
Sauna & Cold Plunge is an independent directory edited by Alex Christou. It is not owned by, or paid for by, any sauna, spa or gym.
Can a venue pay to be listed higher?
No. Listing is free and nothing can be bought. Lists are ordered by geography or by price, never by payment.
Where do the prices come from?
Each price is copied from the venue's own website or booking page and tied to a quoted sentence on that page. The method is on the how we check page.
Do you take a commission on bookings?
No. Booking links go straight to the venue's own page and we take nothing when someone books.
